No Luton sand, no Luton sea, Just lots of chalk and River Lea, But there's something still I can't pin down That draws me to the town. It's certainly a place I'd choose To court the muse, I'm glad I had the chance to stay there as a guest, It's where my first poems came. There's little corners I could name That I believe are deeply blessed: The Scandinavia Cafe in High Town; The Great Northern Public House; The woodland above Pope's Meadow; The tea area below the stand at Kenilworth Road; And Wardown Park Museum. |
