Music on a Sunday Afternoon

 

As you may be aware, Canterbury Christ Church University is no longer in a position to subsidise the Music on a Sunday Afternoon concert series so we are proposing to found Bayle Music, which will be responsible for mounting the concerts season by season. We are most grateful to the Folkestone Creative Foundation for their support for this initiative.

    A steering group has been formed consisting of representatives of SS Mary & Eanswythe's church together with Professor Grenville Hancox who will continue to book the performers and play a major part in the concerts themselves.

    The price for admission will rise to £9 per concert – the first increase in at least 7 years.

    However, we are inviting you to consider joining Bayle Music by buying a season ticket for £64 for the complete series of 8 concerts – equivalent to one free concert.

    Students under 25 will be admitted free through the Cavatina Concert Trust scheme.

    To enable us to make the series financially viable, it would be necessary for 30 to 40 of our supporters to ‘sign up’ for a season ticket, thus guaranteeing an income and enabling us to plan the concert programme with confidence.
